A dangerous attempt to gain social media attention turned life-threatening in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh, where a 40-year-old sweet shop owner was bitten by a snake after placing it around his neck while filming a reel video.

The incident took place in Achhalda town, where Ramadhar, a local shopkeeper operating his sweets business near the Achhalda block intersection, visited a snake handler on Thursday afternoon. In an effort to create a viral reel for social media, he took a snake from the handler and placed it around his neck, posing confidently while recording the video.

Footage from the scene shows the man interacting with the snake in front of the camera as if it were harmless. However, during the recording, the snake suddenly became aggressive. Before the man could react, it bit him on his left hand, causing immediate panic at the spot. The attempt to continue the staged stunt ended instantly as he released the snake in shock.

Local residents acted swiftly and transported him without delay to the Community Health Centre in Achhalda. Medical officer Dr. Gaurav and his team immediately began treatment upon arrival. Doctors confirmed that timely medical intervention saved his life, and he is now reported to be out of danger.
